FIRE BRIGADE COMPETITIONS.
PRESS ASSOCIATION. . .CHRISTCHURCH, March 1. The Fire Brigade, competitions were continued to-day in, fine weather. Results;—. . Hose -and Ladder Competition, for five men.—Captain J. E. W ilson. Lieutenant McNiven,' Brancbmen J. Greig and F. E. Wilson and Fireman Mcluiny, of Hawera, 36 2-ssec, 1; Lieutenant Boon, Foreman Ballinger ~ Firemen AY ade. Ford and Parker, of New Plymouth (2sec penalty), 38 l-ssec, 2 ; Captain Foster. Lieutenant Duncan, Firemen Scott, Russell and Sherwood, of Caversham, 33 2-ssec, 3. The Hose!. Hydrant and Union Competition, for five men, is not yet finished. The Spit team is leading with 36 l-6sec, and Hastings is next with ‘67 l-osec. Tho Alarm and Disabled Hose Competition, for five men, is also unfinished. The Grevmouth term is leading with 57 2-stcc.
