Mr Thomas Brodie, of the "Wellington College staff, has received notice that ho has passed the final section of the degree of Bachelor of Arts. Mr T. Gale, who has made a good recovery from his recent illness, was present at yesterday’s meeting of the Wellington Harbour Board. The Official Assignee (Mr J. Ashcroft) left Wellington for Blenheim yesterday, on business connected with his office. He will probably return on Saturday.

A movement is on foot in tlie Wairarapa (writes onr Carterton correspondent) to present a testimonial to Mr W. C. Buchanan, formerly member for the district.

The Hospital Trustees yesterday passed a vote of sympathy with its chairman, the Hon P. H. Fraser, and ordered a letter to bo sent to him expressing the hope that ho. would make a rapid recovery from his illness. The Rev Mother Superior of St. Bride’s Convent, having for a period of twenty-five years devoted herself to self-denying work, .celebrated her silver jubilee on. Monday. The children of St. Patrick’s School and of St. Bride’s Convent presented the Reverend Mother with addresses. On Wednesday last a. wedding of considerable local interest was celebrated ac Tawa Plat, when Mr A. Nicol, of Pa. hautanui, was married to Miss Matilda Median, of Porirua. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a handsome gown of cream brocaded satin trimmed with "pearls and chiffon. She had a tulle veil with sprays of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet, a gift from the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Misses Mary Mullah and Graeie Nicol, sisters of the bride and bridegroom respectively. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold cable bangle, and to the'bridesmaids be gave gold bangles. After the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev J. W. Chapman, a reception was held in the-Porirua Hall, and was attended by two hundred guests.
