TO CORRESPONDENTS.
C.'W.L.—Medical men who hare not the degree of M.D. are not entitled to describe themselves as "Dr.” They cannot be prevented doing so, or punished; but proceedings could be taken if any one falsely claimed to possess a University degree. "Constant Reader.”—You are quite right: the spelling "jammed” is correct; and "jambed” is totally incorrect, as the .preterite of the verb to jam. "One of Many.”—You have not sent your name and address. Tour letter is unsuitable for publication in any case; but if the things you describe took place complaint should be made to the harbour authorities.
