SWIMMING.
STAR BOATING CLUB’S SPORTS. The swimming sports of the Star Boating Chib were held at'the club's bout shod on Saturday afternoon, in excellent weather. The attendance ot the public was fairly large, and the handicapping was responsible for several close finishes. The secretary (Mr H. W. Cooper) and starter (Mr N. Galbraith) succeeded in getting tiie events off with punctuality. Following are the results : Maiden Race, 50yd s. — TP. Johnson, 1; N. James, 2. 100yds Championship.—G. Hutchison, 1; W. Horne, 2. ’soyds Handicap.—First heat: E. J. Blundell, 1; W. Homo, 2.- Second heat: A. S Macshane, 1; p. R. Morrison, 2. Final: A. S. Macshano (Msec), 1; W. Horne (scr), 2. There wore 21 competitors, and all the heats were well contested. odyds Breast Stroke.— I C. W. S. Cox, 1; Menzies, 2*. 75yds Handicap.—W. Horne, 1; H. Vv. Cooper, 2. Other events were:—Neatest Pleader, H. Cioland, ,!; Fancy Diving, J. Morrison, 1; Walking the Greasy Boom, C. Finch, 1; Coxswains’ Race, G. Johnson, I. ’
