He was advised to commence by taking the juice of a. dozen fresh limes or lemons daily, gradually increasing tho number by two limes per cloy, until the good effects of the treatment wore felt, when the number was to be. decrease'.! at tho same rate, tak-, lug care, however, to continue the remedy for several days after the symptoms had disappeared. '‘The remedy was tried, and tho directions minutely followed with the most happy results. A doctor was consulted, and prescribed various remedies, but to no purpose. After Slaving endured tho pain for a month, the suitor or determined to try the lime juice euro again: '‘No limes wore to. bo obtained, so he hail to be content withlemons. Ho took the juice of about twenty tho first day, and at the end of '2l hours the change was most remarkable. Tho pain disappeared almost entirely, tho swelling subsided, and everything indicated a rapid cure. The ulcers still remained, however, and required care. Ho continued the treatment, increasing tho dose tho first day or two, then gradually diminished it. . Ho continued the use of the juice until tho ulcers had completely healed.” The editor of “Chambers's” notes that he docs not print this record of personal experience “necessarily for imitation” ; neither do we.
