PRAISE OF THE INDIAN TROOPS. LONDON, January 17. Military writers in Pekin arc enthusiastic in praise of the Indian troops in .comparison wit h the European now on active .service in China. Only the Japanese troops equalled the Indians in smartness in actual work. When the Joint- Note setting forth tho proposed terms cf peace was signed by the Chinese Envoys. Prince Clung fetched tho Grand Imperial Seal from the custody of a woman servant iu the Forbidden City. After the papers had been stamped the seal was returned to the care of the same seivant.
