OSMAN DIGNA.

(Received January 21, 5 p.m.) LONDON, January 20. The “Daily Telegraph” announces the capture of Osman Digna at Tokalx Hills.

Osman Ali (or “the bearded oino”) has for manv years been the head and front of the rebellion amongst the inland and river tribes against Egyptian rule. For more than 20 years he has been plotting and stirring up strife, and though often defeated by the Egyptians, Abyssmians and English, has long exercised considerable influence over a large following. His capture is an important one, and his removal from the Soudan will render the task of the pacification of that vast area very much easier.
