PARISIAN POSTMEN S STRIKE
THE THREAT OF THE PREMIER. THE CARRIERS RESUME DUTY. PARIS, Saturday. Owing to the strike of 3000 lettercarriers and sorters for higher pay, business in the city was paralysed, and the strike threatened to extend to the provincial districts. Soldiers of the city garrison and even women were enlisted to do service as letter-carriers',' and with a view to ending the strike, ■ and terminating the inconvenience, M. • Dupuy, the Premier, yesterday threatened to fill the strikers’ places. . The regular postmen have accordingly resumed work.
