BELK’S PATENT RIGHTS COMPANY
: MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS. PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON, Wednesday. At a meeting of the shareholders in Belk’s Patent Bights Company to-day Mr Fred. Pirani was elected chairman of directors. An offer was received to raise the Tasmania with the patent appliances belonging to the company foi £2OOO, the tenderer to provide everything. Mr Arundel, who has been twice on the Tasmania recently, is confident of the success of the experiment. Steps are to be taken to carry out the work within a month. Arrangements were also made to have a. trial of the patent screw propellci made immediately. This 1 invention, is claimed to increase the speed of steamers considerably.
