DR PARKER AND THE SICK MAN. IMPASSIONED PRAYER AGAINST THE TURK. “GOD DAMN~THE SULTAN.” LONDON, Thursday. The Rov Dr Joseph Parker, the leading Congregational divine, who is minister ol the City Temple, Holburn Viaduct, made an address in connection with the Grom well Tercentenary the occasion of an on slaught upon the tyrannies of the Sultai. of Turkey. Dr Parker criticised the friendship which the German Emperor had shown to the Sultan, and created a sensation bj declaring that for his own part his earnest prayer might bo summarised in the words, “God damn the Sultan.”
