MEMORANDA.
This afternoon, iat 2.30 o’clock, Messrs Macdonald,-Wilson and Co. hold a sale of 21 . National bicycles. These machines which are direct from the factory of the National Cycle Manufacturing Company, Hay City, Michigan,, are perfect specimens of the highest grade machines made in America. The sale will'be absolutely unreserved, and the cycling public have here an opportunity of purchasing a firstclass article at their own price. , On Thursday, commencing at .11 o’clock, Messrs Macdonald, M’ ilson and Co. sell at the residence of Mr W. J. • Jorgensen, 22, Marion street, the whole of - hla very superior household furniture. Catalogues have been prepared and can be had on application to the auctioneers. The furniture, will be on view this afternoon from 2 to 5 o’clock. Macdonald, Wilson and 'Co. have added to their sale of valuable' city properties on Friday a brick residence of eleven rooms in Mowbray street, and direct the attention of those in search of a goda family residence. Some additions have been made to Messrs Fabian Bros, and Co.’s sale of furniture, etc., on Thursday. . To-day, at 2 o’clock sharp, Messrs J. H. Bethune and Co. will hold an unreserved sale by public auction of the valuable medical and surgical instruments and library belonging to the late Dr Willis, of Westport, after which they will sell photographic apparatus, and a large collection of general literature. The Dresden Piano Company invites the public to visit the depot, Lambton quay, and inspect some very fine pianos by Broadwood and Sons and Lipp and Son. The favourite excursion steamer Duchess will run to Day's Bay at the usual hours to-day. The afternoon trip from the Bay is timed for 5.30, instead of 5 p.rn. The Westport Harbour Board invites tenders 'for supply of ironbark timber. The prices at which Blackball coal can he obtained are advertised by Mr C. W. Turner, agent, Waterloo quay. To-morrow, Harcourt and Co. will sell nearly new household furniture at Upton terrace. To-morrow. A. G. Taine ami Co. wal sell working bullocks, sawmill, etc. Tenders are invited for the purchase of a stock of drapery at Gisborne. The Wellington Self-Help , Society will resume their weekly meetings on Wednesday evening. March 8. Smith and Smith, Cuba and Victoria streets, Wellington, are the agents for Instrus paints. They are selling opal letters for shop signs, paperhangings, scrim, tacks, oilcloth dadoes, etc. j .
