COMMENTS BY LORD .HAMPDEN. Sydney, Tuesday. Replying to the farewell addresses presented. to him. Lord Hampden, Governor of New South Wales, said the way the colony had recovered from, the financial blow of 1893 and the series of bad seasons showed a condition of elasticity that was simply surprising.
