Mr H. H. Woltors has resigned the position of town clerk of Carterton, which he lias held for a long series of years. .

Mr George .Fisher, M.H.R., and Mr McAlister, of the Premier’s clerical staff, were passengers on- the Tutanekai during her recent cruise to the southern islands. . It is pleasant to be able to announce that Mr S. Lancaster, one of our oldest settlers, who recently* passed through a serious illness, is on the high road towards recovery. ~ Superintendent T. For some years past Mr Mooney has been messenger to the Speaker (Sir Maurice O’Rprke). He, felt the stress of last session very severely, and while in weak health was prostrated with measles. He then contracted a cold, which developed pleurisy and pneumonia, of which he died. The deceased has left a wife and one child.
