NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION. At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Rugby Union last night, Mr G. P. C. Campbell in the chair, a letter was read from j the New South Wales Union, stating that, as ‘ it had been advised that the tour of the Eng- j lish team could only last four months, it; would be impossible' to visit New ' Zealand; j and the Now South Wales Union asked that, the New Zealand Union should agree to be! represented in a match England .v. Austral-; asia. _ . | The council passed the following motion : i —“ This union desires to express its regret, that the English team will be unable to visit ; New Zealand, and with regard to the inolusion of' New Zealand in a! match between the Englishmen and an Australasian team, this union, before giving-.its /sanction,, wishes to know oh what basis the.team will i be selected and what arrangements will be { made as regards the’ expenses of the Now j Zealand players and the time they would re- < quire to stay in Sydney for practice pur-i poses.” The draft copy of the ‘ annual report was; submitted and, adopted. • 1 The Wellington Union gave notice of the : proposed amendments to the* laws of the : game (agreed upon at a reoent conference), ■ and it was decided to have them printed and , circulated amongst the atuiiated unions.
