GABLE NEWS. [per PRESS ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT.]
HON GEOFFREY BRAND. Received February 27, 2.50 p.re. Sydney, Monday. Lord Hampden, (Governor of New South Wales, received a cable to-day announcing the death of his youngest son, the Hon Geoffrey Brand, thirteen years of age. The cause of death was pneumonia, supervening on a chill. He went to England some months ago with Lady Hampden for the purpose of entering Eton, and was attending a private school at the time of bis .death. : A farewell citizens’ banquet, which was •to have been tendered to Lord Hampden ;to-night; has been abandoned.
