Beeves (4 gent-General for New Zealand), Sir Westby Perceval (Agent-General for Tasmania), Bir Saul Samnel (ex-Agent-General for Now South Wales) and Sir Andrew Clarke (AgentGeneral for Victoria) have joined the committee to promote an Anglo-American alliance. . Received May 20,1 a.m. Washington, May 25.
The American officers at Tampa gave a dinner in honour of the Queens Birthday. The flags of the two nations were intertwined, and the allusion of an alliance with Britain was cheered.
