THE SQUADRON.
A number of beads of departments from the Government Buildings paid a visit to H.M.S. Koval Arthur yesterday afternoon. 'Xhe orders for to-day (Queen’s Birthday) are that the crews of the three warships are to “ dress ship ” at S a m., i e the vessels are to display all the bnntiag they can find room for fron; f-tem to *dcrn. A Royal salute (.T guns) Is to be fired at noon by each of the vessels in honour of the day. •j ho Royal Arthur is to leave for Auckland on &undav next. Between 200 and £OO men from the three warships came ashore last night on a 3d hours’ and a similar number will be allowed liberty on their messmates’ return. For the purpose of maintaining order, three pickets of six men each—one from each ship—in charge of an officer, patrolled the streets nntil a late hour.
