THE VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT.

The Petono Navala are promoting a gymnasinm in confection with the corps. The two cutters of the Petone Naval Artillery Volunteers will leave the boatshed for the Koyal Arthur at 1.16 to-morrow. A special meeting of tbe corps will be hold on Tuesday evening for the election of a lieutenant. At a meeting of members of the proposed bicycle corps held in the Drillahed last night, Mr P.B Muir was elected lieutenant-commend-ing. ' Nominations for non - commissioned officers were received, and the company will be called together again next week. Twentyseven names have been enrolled, this being the number on which capitation will be paid. Tbe review on the Queen’s Birthday wul be attended by one of the officers.
