Mr Herbert Spencer, the Duke of Argyle, and Sir Charles Dilke have expressed opinions in favour of an Anglo-American alliance. Tho Now York correspondent of the Times states that few public man in America commit themselves off-hand in regard to tho alliance, aud a few have declared against it, but the expressions of friendship toward England are universal. AMERICAN SOLDIERS SING “GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.” Washington, May 17. The soldiers at the Tampa camp, when they received the news of Mr Chamberlain’s speech, cheered it and sang “ God Save the Queen.”
