SERIOUS FIRE AT STRATFORD.

By Telegraph,—Press Association. Stratford, May 18. A serious fire occurred hero at 3 o clock this morning. The Stratford Ci-operative Dairy Factory was totally destroyed by fire. The whole place was iu flames before the fire was discovered. The Fire Brigade saved a few boxes of butter. A new engine not yet fixed, worth £l5O, and two employees' cottages were also bnrned. The insurances were—£l6oo and a floating policy of £7OO on the stock, both in the New Zealand office. Tho value of the buildings and plant was £3OOO, and of ho stock destroyed about £IOO. The fire is supposed to have originated in the boiler-room. Tho directors have announced that they will pay for milk on Friday aj usual, aud aro meeting to-day to arraugo for rebuilding-
