E. EBMENYI. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. London, May 17. The famous violinist Rsmenyi dropped dead while playing in the Orpheus Theatre, San Francisco. [Bdouard Esmenyi, who was born in Hungary in 1830, received his musical education at Vienna under Jossph Boehm, who was also Joachim’s instructor. He took an active part iu the Hungarian rebellion of 1818, and afterwards was forced to flee to America. In 1853 he oazne under the influence of Liszt at Weimar, and in the following year went to London as solo violinist to the Queen. He obtained his amnesty in 1860, and on his return to Austria was appointed a Court violinist. He played successfully all over Europe. _ A bout 14 years ago ho made a concert-giving tour of New Zealand.]
