MARINE CASUALTIES.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright. Sydney, May 18. The schooner Valador, which has arrived from Napier, struck a gale in Tasman Sea, and was hove-to for some time. A portion of the deck cargo of timber was washed away, and the vessel sustained slight damage. Melbourne, May 18. Tho Marine Board found Captain Forbes, master of the s.s. Edina, guilty of gross misconduct in connection with the BdinaManawatu collision, and suspended his certificate of competency for 13 months, also ordering him to pay £3l towards the expenses of the inquiry. Ho intends to appeal. The charge against the pilot was not sustained.
