Mil DUKWARD LELY AND FRAU LEIN ELLY FUCHS.

Our amusement advertisements this morning contain a most interesting announcement. On his arrival from Christchurch yesterday, Mr Dnrward Lely was taken to soo the Opera House by one of our leading musicians. In the course of conversation ha referred to tho enthusiasm created by Fraulein Fuchs’ playing at tho concert given in her honour at the Opera House last Friday, and suggested that it would gratify the largo obcle of the gifted young violinist's admirers if Mr Lely would arrange for her to perform at his entertainments. Tho celebrated tenor replied that these weio complete in themselves, but no doubt a solo by Miss Fuchs, whoso name was familiar to him, would form an attractive feature in his programmes. In tho course of tne afternoon an arrangement was come to, and Fraulein Fuchs will appear at all Mr Lely’s Wellington recitals—an announcement that will bo read with great pleasure by all lovers of music. As everybody knows, Mr Durward Loly will give his opening entertainment, in tho Opera House this evening, and Fraulein Fuchs will perform.

An excellent programme has been arranged for tho third of tho popular concerts, to bo held in the Skating Rink this evening. The services of Miss Sheen, tho gold-medallist of the soprano singing contest in tho recent Exhibition, have been scoured, her items being “For All Eternity” (Masoheronl) and “A May Moci.ing” (Denza) two charming ballads. Master Amadio, tho gifted young flautist, will positively make his last appearance iuNew Zealand before leaving for Australia, and has chosen De Jong’s fantasia on “Faust” and Terachak’aLo Babillard ” aa his contributions. Other artists to appear are Mr McDonald (baritone). Miss Woodward (soprano) and Mr Charles Zachariah.(ono of our boat-known amateur comedians). A capable orchestra, under tho direction of Mr Oimino, junr., will play selections during tho evening. Patrons are advised to secure their tickets at Messrs Chas. and Co.'s music warehouse, Willis street, to avoid trouble at tho doors. The full programme appears in outadvertising columns.
