GERMANY’S SEIZURE OF KIAO-CHAU.

The German Squadron under the command of Prince Henry has sailed for Kiaochau. Tho Emperor took his farewell of the Prince at a banquet at Kiel, the occasion being marked by a great naval demonstration. THE KAISER’S DIRECTION TO PRINCE HENRY. Received December 17, 10 p.m. Beklin, December 16. At the banquet at Kiel to Prince Henry, the Emperor directed him to make it clear to every foreigner that Germany had planted the Imperial eagle upon Chinese soil to protect German commerce and missionaries. Any affront to the flag or prejudice to their right must be met by a blow from a mailed fist. Prince Henry, in reply, said he was animated by the single desire to preach abroad the gospel of the Emperors consecrated person, and, in conclusion, be referred to the Emperor's crown of thorns.
