Our London office cables, under date ICth inst., as follows:—Since the opening of tho sales, greasy, washed and scoured merino super, medium and inferior, fine washed and scoured, coarso washed and scoured crossbred, greasy merino lambs super, and medium nnd inferior are Jd per, 1b lower. Fine medium greasy crossbred are par at id per lb higher. Other descriptions are unchanged. Competition by both Homo and foreign buyers is fairly aotlvo, but attendance is normal. Tho total quantity catalogued to date is 159,000 bales, and the total quantity withdrawn to date is 13,000 bales. Locally tho demand is not so good, and buyers are not disposed to pay late rates. During the week wo brought forward a fairly large catalogue of crntchings nnd oddments, values for the former ruling from ajd to 4J4 per lb. BhcopaJdns.— I Those are In fair supply, and prices ruling arc very firm. Quotations are for butchers’ green skins, 4s to 4s fid; extra prime, 3s ; medium, to good, 3s fid to 3s 9'l ; country dry skins, prime, woll-woollcd, GH to GAdpcrlb; extra prime, ami wellsaved pelts, fjsd per lb; good, 4Jd to6d; medium, ajd to 4Jd; inferior and broken, lid to 3d per lb ; pelts, 0(1 to la each. Rabbltskins are eagerly competed (or at following rates: —Winter blacks, 14Jd to 15Jd ; best winter erev. 12*d to 12? d; autumn, Cd to 9d ; summer, Sd to $d per lb. Hides have touched a very low point here, there £elng hardly any demand for poor and light hides.

■Well-flayed ox and cow are worth 17s and Rs each respoetiv-Jy. We look for an improvement in tno market slim tly. , . , Tallow.—Consignments are coming to hand fr*dv, hut meet with dull enquiry. We have placed nil forward at prices equivalent to these mlim'in Tjondo.i. We quote : Prime mutton, ilB in .till Ills ; mixed and medium, £l6 to ills 10s ; inferior and hadly-rc ndered, .tH to i'l4 10s per ton. I.atest ealdes from f.ondon advice us that the market there continues dull. . , Fungus.—-This is in light supply, hut market la dull. We quote hd to 3Jd per lb. Wheat.—Good whole fowl wheat is scarce, and oommands ready sale at 3s Cd to 3s Cd per bushel. For milling wheat tho market Is dull, but there is no change in prices to report, as holders arc not disposed to accept lower values. Oats. —These show a weakening tendency In the Booth. Locally there is very little business passing. us fairly heavy stocks arc hold.* We quote good short feed at 2s 2d ex store. Maize. —The now crop is now being offered, but at prices precluding business. Quotations are 3s to 3s 3d ex store.
