UNITED HUNT CLUB.

The weather again favoured those mem* bora of the United Hunt Club who wended their way to Tawa Flat on Saturday. Shortly after 3 o’clock the hounda were thrown off at the back of Mr Earp’s house, and ran well down the paddock, followed by a largo field, which, however, was considerably thinned out at ths first fence. A run of about 2J- miles was cheeked at Mr Tremowan's. Five minutes’ spell saw the hounds off again, but after about a mile they had to be checked in the best port of the run, owing to a slight misunderstanding with some of the Club’s usually most hospitable farmers. Avoiding the forbidden country, the huntsmen took to the road for about two miles, after which the hounds wore again laid on, and a good run ended in the paddock at the back of the Porlrua Hotel. _ Amongst those following were ; —Lady Alice Boyle, on The Liar j Miss Julia Skerrett, on Lnrline ; Captain Campbell-Preston and Captain H. G. Fellden, on enviable mounts j Messrs C. P. Skerrett (Deputy-Master), on Halioore; J. Mills, |on Toprail j B. JJucholz, on How's That; P. E. Baldwin, on a fine jumper ; J. C. Hanna, on Freshfield; James Coates, on Lancelot; Bridson, on Eangatira, Morris, on a grey pony, and several others. A lady and a gentleman came to grief during the run, but neither was hurt. The hounds were in charge of Mr George McDonald, the Club’s huntsman, who es usual handled them well.
