THE WOOL MARKET.
Under date London, 12th October, Messrs Dalgety and Co.; Limited, cable as follows to their Wellington agents, Messrs Levin, and Co.:—"The- wool sales closed firm, lately reported rates being fully maintained, with the exception of those for inferior and faulty wools, which have scarcely kept up to the level advised in our Inst message. The total quantity available for sale, including old stocks, was 227,000 halos, of which some 123,000 bales Ijaye been sold for home consumption, 89,000 bales for the Continent, and fiUuQ bales for America; leaving 10,003 bales (of which QOOO bales are Cape wools) to bo carried forward to the next series. The prospects fop the ensuing sales are favourable.”
