By Telegraph.—Press Association. — Copyrieht. London, August 5. The shares iu the Taitapu Gold Estates Company are being allotted. Auckland, August 6.' The manager of the Waihi Mine telegraphed to the Auckland office of the com-! pany that he has reached the Welcome; lode in tho No. 2 level 70ft below the main workings, and that the. first -assay; from the lode gave 32dwts of pare gold to the ton. There are still 50ft to drive before the Martha lode is reached. A subsequent telegram received states that assays made of the ore 4(ft into the lode give 2oz lldwt pure gold, or soz 4dwt to the ton. ■.
