The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s direct liner lonic arrived yesterday from London, via Tonoriffo. tho Capo and Hobart. The lonic loft R. A.‘Docks at 5 p.m. on the Pith May, with 34 passengers and general cargo. She experienced strong N.W. winds and iino weather throughout the run down the Channel, arriving at Plymouth at 6.51 p.m. on tho 17th May. After embarking tho remainder of passengers and mails, loft nt 3.48 p.m. on tho 18th May for Tonoriffo, making a lino run, with light mriablo winds and clear weather, and arrived at Tenerifio at 5.35 a.m. on tho 23rd May. The lonic, after a .day of a fow hours, left again at 10.43 a.m. for Capetown, experiencing to tho Equator moderate N.E. to N.W. winds, from thence to pe rt fresh S.E. trades, and anchored in Table Bay at 10.7 a.m. on the 7bh Juno. After disembarking and embarking mails and passengers tho ship proceeded for Hobart at 4.43 p.m. Bamo day, tho passage Hiroughouk being a remarkably fine one, nothing but light to moderate, variable winds anti, fine weather wdh smooth sea having bean encountered during the entire passage. Tho lonio arrived at Hobart at 10.43 p.m. ou the 25th June. Leaving again at 12 noon 25th Juno, tho stoamor mot with fresh S.E. winds for first two days, followed by south-westerly winds ti l her arrival at this port at 12.1 S p.m. on Sunday.

The Dlngadeo is expected at this port from Napier on Tuesday or Wednesday. She will bo placed on tho slip for cleaning and painting.
