Kapua, Norton and Mutiny led the field at first, but all the horses kept pretty close together until the field rapidly thinned as various obstacles wore encountered. At last only the placed horses and Dromedary were left. Up to the sod wall before tho last hurdle, Till tea had a good loading position, but ho camo down, leaving Norton a couple of lengths in front of Booties and Bombardier. Tho race appeared all over from this point, and Norton, taking tho double in fine stylo, was brought along over tho gorse in tho straight, winning from Bombardier by t\yo lengths; Booties a fair third, and Dromedary a bad {nst.
