On Monday next this company commence a short soason at the Opera House. His Excellency the Governor and the Countess of Glasgow hayo signified their Intention of being present on the opening night, as also the Premier (the Hon Seddon), Colonel (Toy, Ojvptidn Johnson and the officers of JI.M.S. Eingarooma, and Commander Adams and the officers of If.Sf.S. Pylades. The play to be produced is tho comedy-burlesque “Bevels," which is said by our Christchurch contemporaries to bo very clover and up-to-dato. Playgoers will remember “ Skipped by the Eight of the Moon," played here not long since, and ns " Bevels ”, is said to be eyen pore diverting and mirthful than that play, its run should he highly successful. Attention is drawn to the fact that tho first four yows) pf tht) orchestral stalls will bo 4s each) that for tho remainder of the stalls and the dress circle half-a-crown will bo charged, and that the charge for tho family circle and the pit will bo one shilling. Family or season tickets can be purchased at a reduction, as notified in our advertising columns.
