A matchbox was found on a chair by tho girl’s bedside, and she admitted having taken a quantity of match heads, saying she had no desire to live. Though my body lies sleeping in tho cold and silent tomb, I shall have a glorious waking when tho blessed Lord doth come.—l remain, your loving daughter and sister, Alice Muir." On another sheet of paper tho poor girl had written the same letter "To my mother.’’ She is, at latest accounts, pronounced out of danger.
