TREATMENT OP FRUIT PESTS. Sydney, Febuavy 9. The Fruit Growers' Conference has concluded.

Dr Cobb, Pathologist of the Agricultural Department, read an .important paper on fruit pests and their treatment. He estimated that the damage done yearly by these pests in New South Wales amounted to .£IOO,OOO, Tho discussion which took place on the paper showed that there was urgent necessity for dealing with the matter thoroughly without delay, and it was resolved to ask the Minister to establish an entomological laboratory for the study of the treatment of pests.
