MASTERTON.
From Our Own Correspondent. Mastbbton, January 17.7® Tho tender of Mr Williams, at .£209 10s, has been accepted for the erection of the grandstand in Mastorton park. Eight tenders (five of which are from Wellington) havo been received for the construction of tho new tank at the Masterton Gasworks. They are being considered at a special meeting of the Borough Council to-night. Mr F. Bennett, who has been transferred to tho Carterton School, was presented with an illuminated address by his Masterton friends last night. There has been a marked improvement in the - price of stock since the drought was broken.
