Local anglers are signing a petition for presentation to tho Wellington Acclimatisation Society, asking that a second ranger be appointed to this district, as poaching is becoming very common. There , have already been a number of vary good bush burns in this district this season. There is no end of controversy in town over the Shops and Shop Assistants Act.
