Auckland, August 3.

Mr Rees finally addressed the electors tonight in the City Hall. There was a crowded meeting, and considerable disturbance. Several men were ejected by the police. At the close of the address bandies of questions were sent up, but Mr Rees refused to answer them, as it would take three hoars to do so. The following resolution was carried by a Urge majority :— 4 That this meet* ing thanks Mr Leos for bis address, approves of his actio \ in bringing to light matters connected with the Uniutaoroa land, and oousiJers him e ntitled to the confidence of the electors.’ The meeting broke up with mingled ctnors and groan's. Both sides state their confidence of victory to-marrow.
