FIRES.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, April 10.
A four« roomed cottage at Ooehunca, rented by Louis Carl Marton, wa? partially destroyed by fire last night. It was insured for £7O in the Standard Office and tho furniture fer £IOO in the Commercial Union. Christchurch, April 10. At 3 a.m to day o fire in Sydenham destroyed two wooden bouses, occupied by Mr Carter aod family and Mr O’Malley and family, Xhe former was owned by Mr Carter and the latter by Mr Geo. Kiog. Carter’s house was insured for £125 and the furniture for £125 in the New Zealand Office ; Kina’s for £l5O in the Economic Office ; O’Malley’s furniture was uninsured. The occupants of both houses lose practically everything. The cause of the fire, which started in Carter’s bouse, w*s & defectively set grate,
