The morning offered wet for the second day of the Napier Park Racing Club's Autumn Meeting, but cleared by 11 o'clock, and though the clouds were threatening all day, only a very slight shower fell. Notwithstanding the weather there was a very large attendance. The Governor and Lady Glasgow being pre* sent as guests of the stewards. L 5299 was put through the machine. THE POLO TOURNAMENT, Auckland, March 23. The polo tournament was resumed to-day when very good play was again witnessed, The Auckland (second) and Gisborne teams met and after a good game Auckland second won by four goals to three. Some magnificent play took place between the Christchurch and Hangitikei teams, Christchurch at length winning by three points to two.

The Hutt County Trotting Club held a'meeting at the Victoria Hotel last evening, Mr T. Oxenham presiding. A letter was read from the secretary of the A, and P, Association, intimating that the oluh’s offer of LSO a year for three meetings for one year, with right of renewal for a farther term of six years, on similar conditions, had been agreed to; the club to deposit L 45 to make a track. The letter waa received, and the club now proceeds to get into working order for the first meeting. The delegates to the meeting of the association yesterday (the secretary and Mr Wilkie) also reported upon the_ result of tha interview, which was deemed highly satisfactory, It was decided that an instalment of L2O be sent to tho A. and P. Association for the formation of the track, so that there should bo no delay in getting it into order.
