In the Centennial Hall of the Town Hall Buildings last night His Excellency the Governor, Lord Jersey, was installed as Grand Master of the Freemasons of New South Wales. The ceremony was a very imposing one, and among those present were representatives from Tasmania, Victoria, and Queensland. The steamer Taramung, which is believed to have foundered on the voyage from Newcastle to Melbourne, was insured in the Tasmanian office for L 14,000. Her cargo, consisting of 1400 tons of coal, was uninsured. Adelaide, June 12. The no-confidence debate was brought to a close last night, when Dr Gockburn’s motion was negatived by 29 to 22. (Received June 13, 1 a.m.) Melbourne, June 12. Much success has attended the use of the Koch tuberouline in the Alfred Hospital. One lupus patient, who was in a very low state when first the injection was made, has undergone a remarkable change, and has shown considerable improvement in health. The results obtained in this case have caused the medical profession to take fresh interest in Dr Koch’s discovery.
