ENGLAND AND THE COLONIES.
(BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT.) THE TRUST FUNDS QUESTION. FISCAL ARRANGEMENTS. (SPECIAL). London, May 1. Sir Charles Tupper and the Australian Agencs-General had a conference to-day with Mr Goschen and Lord Knulsford on the question of the investment of Trust Funds. The latter said there was every prospect of a satisfactory adjustment. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr Howard Vincent asked whether, in view of the treaties with foreign States which precluded preferential fiscal arrangement with tho Australian colonies, the Government would devise some other scheme with regard to the exchange of respective products. Sir James Fergusson replied that Ministers wore keeping the matter in view.

Sir Charles Dilke disbelieves that tho Australian colonies will speedily adopt Federation.
