The total quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 186,000 bales, of which 134,000 have been sold. Fifteen hundred and fifty casks of tallow have been offered for sale, 1225 being disposed of. Tallow —Medium mutton, 26s ; beef, 24s fid.

The English wheat market shows a general advance of la ; the Continental and American markets are still advancing, and the latter is showing increased firmness. Forward business in the Australian colonies is firm at an advance. Arrivals of foreign wheat are large. There are no Australasian shipments of wheat off coast or at ports of call. New Zealand rabbitskins, fair to good, Is Bd.

Sydney, April 20. Sailed —Tekapo and Jubilee, for Wellington. Melbourne, April 20. Arrived—Botomahana, from Bluff. (Received April 21, 1.20 a.m.) Sydney, April 20. Sailed R.M.S. Alameda, for San Francisco, via Auckland. Silver is quoted at 3s Sid. Colonial oats, 2os 6d ; beans, 34a 6d ; peas, 33s Od.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cable message from their London office, dated the 17th inst. : Tallow—There is a rather better demand. Fine mutton tallow has declined 3d per cwt since last report. Good beef tallow —Quotations unchanged. Frozen meat — Mutton market quiet. The price of mutton has declined Id per lb since last report. Lamb—Market dull. Prime New Zealand lamb is worth par carcase ojd per lb. Beet—Market unchanged.
