At a meeting of delegatee of the old and new Unionists it was resolved that despite the collapse of the strike in Australia the collection of £20,000 should be continued, so as to relieve the distress there unless they are assured the amount is not required. Mr George Sbipton, eecretary of the Trade and Labour Council, has cabled £I2OO to Australia. Mr J. D. Fitzgerald, the Sydney labour delegate, has arranged to address a meeting of Unionists in the provinces. It is believed that Burns will accept an invitation to visit Australia. The Labour Defence Committee are preparing a balance-sheet.
