* ] STAR BOATING CLUB. The heats of the Fitz Gerald Memorial Fours were rowed on Saturday afternoon, when C. J. Hickson (bow), 6. H. Johnston (2), J. Mills (3), J. G. Duncan (stroke), de. feated K. Duncan (bow), G. Bethune (2), O. Fitz Gerald (3), F. Pownall (stroke) by half a length ; and E. Connal (bow), W. H, Crnickabank (2), G. H. Wallace (3», A. W. Newton (stroke), rowed a dead beat, with J. D. Barnett (bow), O. Cooper (2), G. Eliot (3), J. E, Hume (stroke). The final heat resulted in J. E. Hume’s men winning, with Duncan second and Newton third. The course was from Thomas Point to the Club’s shed. Mr E. Jackson acted as starter, and Mr L. C. Roskruge as judge. ORIENTAL BOATING CLUB. The final heat of the Club’s doable sculls 1 was rowed on Saturday afternoon, when A. Hill (stroke) and W. Jones (bow) defeated C. Gell (bow) and E. O. Renner (stroke) by ; three lengths. The course was from Point I Jernlngham to the Club’s shed. Mr C. Gell, sen., acted as starter, and Mr J. H. Richardson officiated as judge.
