CORRESPONDENCE.

THE JUBILEE SURPLUS. TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sib, —To me, as a settler of the 3 Year One and as a contributor to the fund, it appears that the most appropriate purpose to which this balance could be devoted would be —first, to erect a suitable monument over the grave of our leader, the old Colonel; and next, to set up in some conspicuous place the Moleswbrth obelisk ; Francis Moleaworth having been facile princeps among the first settlers, and having led hither the gallant band of Oornishmen who, with their descendants, are among our beat colonists. If our jubilatora desire medals, let us open a new subscription for that object; I for one will subscribe to it.—l am, &c., M.T.B. April 17.
