GREYTOWN.
(from our own correspondent.) December 31. During the past week the Christmas concerts given throughout the townships in the county by Wellington performers in aid of the funds of the Greytown Wesleyan Church have gone off to the delight of the various audiences, and satisfactorily to the object desired. Much credit is duo to the indefatigable promoter, the Rev J. Ward, and unqualified praise to the talented performers whose noting is too well-known and appreciated to need individual mention. Professor Kudarz gave a performance at the Town Hall last Thursday night, and of course astonished “the natives” with his usual clever tricks. The many other attractions doubtless were the cause of the “ thin house ” present on the occasion.
There are several parties prospecting in the ranges to the west of Greytown. There are no reliable reports to hand at the present. What is wanted is just this : The ranges prospected by men who thoroughly understand the work, and are paid for so doing, and doubtless the result would be satisfactory, whether in the discovery of the precious metal or other mineral productions of a commercial value.
