(per press association.) (Received January 3, 2.10 a.m.) Sydney, January 2. At Tattcrsall’s meeting to-day the weather was lino, and there was a large attendance. For the Cup eleven started, Silvcrmino being the favorite. Approaching the homo turn Yespasia struck the rafl and fell. Invader and Silvcrmino galloped into her and the latter’s back was broken, and Robertson, the jockey, bad his skull fractured so severely as to render his recovery improbable. The other horses and jockeys were merely bruised. The result of the race was probably affected by the accident, Acme only winning by a head. Time, 3min 32-isoc.
