New Zealand Times Office, Friday Evening. Town trade during the week has been quiet, bufrcountry orders are coming in fairly well, and prices have not altered much. Ale—Dog’s head, Us 9d and 7s 9d... Stout—A shipment of Johnson’s has been sold to arrive at 10s and 7s fid for quarts and pints respectively ; Griffin’s is worth 11s and 7s. Spirits—Hennessey’s, brand, 35s fid for parcels; Denis Monnie, 31s Sd; Biaquit du Bouche, 22s fid for case, 7s 3d for bulk. Whiskey—Teachers’, 22s fid in case, in bulk; agents for Usher’s report cood Is>les for bulk and case; Kilmarnooh, 20s; Kinahan’a, 21s ; Dunville, 17s fid ; Encore, 15s; Geneva JDKZ, reputed four gallons, 2 u.p., is in request at 13s fid. Bum —Bed Heart, out of stock; no alterations to report. Candles— London sperms are scarce and firm at Currants —Market suddenly cleared by exportation to the South and Australia. To-day they are quoted s|d, and there are few sellers. There are no sultanas procurable. Fresh herrings, 5s 9d; preserved bloaters,9a fid; red herrings, 30s; kippered herrings, 9s fid. Oysters, until the arrival of the O. P. Olsen, were out of the market; they are now in supply at 5s fid to 5s 9d. Salt. — Stocks of Liverpool have been cleared, but London has come freely, and further shipments are afloat. Fine, ex Doric, was placed at 70s, and coarse at 60s ; these, quotations ’are for wholesale parcels. Kerosene. — Prices unaltered. Tobacco. —Agents for Juno are bare of stock, and a shipment expected per Arawa is booked to arrive. Woolsacks. — Supplies for next season are expected in about three weeks. Several sales are reported for shipment to Melbourne, whence there is ■ an active inquiry. The spot quotation is 2s 9d, although large lines have been quitted at a slight concession. If values are maintained in Australia, we look for an advance here.
