The following will represent the W ellington Club fou.th fifteen against the Athletic third to-morrow, at Newtown Park, commencing at 2.15 p.m. sharp Bary, Isherweod, Stevenson. Willeston, Newbold, Seed, Jacoby. Muir. Roas, Pearce, Craig, Heywood, Didsbury, Pownall, and another. The following players will represent Wellington in the match against Wairarapa at Greytown to-morrow Backs —J. W. JS-U----ner, D. Gage, F. Fair brother, Murphy, Moorhouae, Sim ; forwards—M. C. MASTERTON. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) August IS. A meeting of residents took place last evening at Elkin’s Club'.-Hotel, for the pur-
pose of making final arrangements for the •reception of tne Canterbury football team. Mr E. M. D. Whatman presided. It was decided that as the team is to arrive at Masterton on the evening of the 23rd, that on the morning of the 24th they should be driven to Te Ore Ore to witness a football match between the Red Stars and Te Ore Ore Clubs, and after lunch driven to the Master* ton football ground, where a match has been arranged between them and a team of the Wairarapa Rugby Union, and a banquet in their honor will take place in the evening. (united tress association.) Masterton, August 18. The following team has been selected to play for Wairarapa against Wellington, at Greytown, on Saturday :—Fail-back —W. Tally ; three-quarters Bethune and E. Udy ; halves—Stewart, Baumber, and W. Perry; forwards—Hounslow and Felling (wings), Whatman, Welch, Cox, Kibblewhite, 0. and J. Beard, C. Fairbrother. There may be a slight alteration in the team to play Canterbury on Wednesday next.
