MAMMOTH CHEESE.

The other week we published a report from Liverpool, giving sorne’particolara of the importation by Messrs Heap and'Son of several cheeses of extraordinary >ize, and we have now to report the arrival, both at Liverpool and Glasgow, of several cheeses of even greater size and weight. By the City of Berlin, which arrived at Liverpool, Mr Thomas J. Lipton received a consignment of a cheese of extraordinary dimensons. It weighs no less than S.OOOlba., and there are other two from the same dairy now due on the Clyde by the Anchor steamer Aucboria, which together weigh fully 6,ooolbsj These monster cheeses are said tp be the largest in the world at the present moment, end were contracted for through Mr Lipfon*e American house, Murray New York. They were made by Dr. L. L Wright, of Wbifesboro’, New York State. Six days* milk of 1 200 cows was required to make the three cheeses above referred to. Only a tew days previously Mr Lipton received four snmTor cheese?, each weighing over 1,900 bs. These were made by the Oloverfield Cheese : Factory Company, one of the best known com* bination factories in America.
