The market rate of discount is i lower. It now stands at i, being 1J below the bank rate. Colonial . Breadstuffs. Adelaide wheat, ex store, 355; Adelaide flour, ex store, 265; Adelaide wheat, off coast, 31s 3d; New Zealand wheat, 28s to 345. Tallow, hides and leather are at previous prices. The Agents-Gleneral for the Cape of Good Hope and the Australian Colonies have presented a joint petition to Mr Childers, Chancellor of the Exchequer, asking for a reduction of the wine duties, in spite of the fact that a rupture has occurred in the negotiation of a commercial treaty with the Spanish Government. The project which has been set on foot to establish a hospital at Fort Said, as a memorial to the late General Gordon, has been abandoned, and the Committee who have charge of the subscriptions are now considering to what use the funds shall be put, Berlin, May 31. The latest bulletins with regard to the health of the Emperor William state that he is decidedly better.
